The day starts in Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, with its oak trees and Cape Dutch gables. You get a drive through town, time to walk around the centre, a guided cellar visit and a tasting at a well established estate.

Next is Franschhoek. French Huguenots settled the valley in 1688, and today it's known as much for its restaurants as for its wine. If you'd like to ride the Wine Tram, tell us when you book and we'll plan the day around it.

Paarl is the last stop, one of the oldest wine areas in the country. The granite domes above the town are worth a look. We can also stop at Drakenstein, the prison Nelson Mandela walked out of in 1990.
