Aquila Private Game Reserve is in the Karoo foothills, roughly two hours from the city. It's the closest place to Cape Town where you can see lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.
Big Five game drives about two hours from Cape Town. You don't need to fly to Kruger.
Most people book the full day morning safari. You have breakfast when you arrive, go out on a game drive with one of the reserve's rangers, then have a buffet lunch and some time at the lodge. It suits families and anyone on their first safari.
Photographers usually ask for the sunset drive, when the heat drops, the animals start moving and the light turns warm. The early morning drive works for the same reason at the other end of the day.
Aquila also runs horseback and quad bike safaris. We drive you there and back and make the booking with the reserve, so you only have to deal with us.
