Cape
Peninsula
You head south along the Atlantic side, over Chapman's Peak and down to Cape Point, then come back up the False Bay coast past the penguins at Boulders.

This is the day most visitors remember longest. You leave the city past Clifton and Camps Bay, stop in Hout Bay, then take Chapman's Peak Drive with the sea a long way below the road.
At Cape Point you can walk up to the old lighthouse and look back over the reserve. At Boulders and Seaforth the penguins are close enough to hear. On the way home you pass through Simon's Town, stop at Kalk Bay harbour, where the seals wait for the fishing boats, and see the painted beach huts at Muizenberg.
It's a long day. We plan a lunch stop and leave enough time at each viewpoint so you never feel hurried back to the vehicle.

A stop in Hout Bay. The Seal Island boat trip leaves from here if you add it.

The drive over Chapman's Peak, with the sea a long way below the road.
Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope
Walk up to the old lighthouse and look back over the reserve. Cape Point entry is included.
